Restaurants & Dhabas
Perhaps one of the best things to do after a long week of work is to go on a road trip. Amritsar is one of the most popular weekend getaway spots for Delhiites, especially this time of the year. The vast array of some of the best dhabas in North India makes the road trip from Delhi to Amritsar on NH1 an unforgettable experience. The itinerary starts in Delhi and goes through Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Ambala, Ludhiana, Phagwara, Jalandhar, and Amritsar. Let’s check out the dhabas on the Food Highway, NH1, that you should not miss.

Even after so many years, even after being acquired by someone else, it has never compromised on quality.

Specialties: Kadhi Chawal and Sandhu Daal.
5. Lucky Dhaba, Jalandhar
If you are driving all night, this place is ideal for a great brunch halt. All you need is vegetarian food and a hot cup of tea to refresh yourself. This is one dhaba that can give you the perfect vegetarian dinner, even though most of the dhabas on this route serve a lot of non-vegetarian food.
Speciality: Mix vegetables and their variety of breads: Missi Roti, Tandoori Roti, Laccha Parantha
6. Kesar da Dhaba, Amritsar
A vacation to Kesar da Dhaba would not be complete without dining there. This restaurant, which is located in Amritsar Cantt, has been offering vegetarian Punjabi cuisine since 1947.
