About Garden of Five Senses

The Garden of Five Senses is a wonderful park that offers a plethora of activities built by Delhi Tourism. It was specially designed as a recreational area where people could relax and socialize. It makes the city more lively and serves as an ideal gathering place for all social groups. Spread across 20 acres, this breathtaking space was unveiled in February 2003. Everyone is greeted by the majestic rocks and steel birds perched atop the pillars.

This garden is divided into several parts. The main attraction of the garden is its tranquil waterfall surrounded by fragrant bushes. The aim of this garden is to stimulate the senses of the individual in relation to the environment. It stimulates the senses of smell, touch, sight, taste and sound through a wonderful blend of fragrance and colour, texture and form.

Architecture of Garden of Five Senses

The lawns aim, as its name suggests, to enhance, beautify and delight the five senses – smell, sight, sound, taste and touch. As you enter the entrance, you are immediately immersed in a mix of smell, texture and form. The social and recreational area includes sandstone blocks, an open amphitheatre and an open performance area.

The original construction of the city is depicted in the stonework of the boundary and dome-shaped complex. The garden houses over twenty-five sculptures and artefacts, making it one of India’s largest collections of public art.

6. Themes: The garden is divided into various themed areas, each catering to different senses. For example, the Khas Bagh area focuses on sight, with beautiful landscape design and visual aesthetics, while the Neel Bagh area caters to sound, featuring waterfalls and chirping birds.
